Linda Cardellini Joins Crystal Lake
Linda Cardellini has officially joined the cast of Crystal Lake, the highly anticipated Friday the 13th prequel series from A24, taking on the iconic role of Pamela Voorhees. The upcoming series, set to premiere on Peacock, is being described as an expanded prequel and promises to reimagine the dark legacy of Camp Crystal Lake.
In this version, Pamela Voorhees is portrayed as a former singer who abandoned her music career to care for her special needs son, only to descend into grief and madness following his tragic loss—laying the foundation for the horrors to come. This reinterpretation adds emotional depth to the character originally brought to life by Betsy Palmer in the 1980 horror classic.
Crystal Lake is being produced by A24 and Victor Miller, the original creator of the franchise. Showrunning duties are helmed by Brad Caleb Kane (Welcome to Derry). First ordered straight-to-series in 2022, the project is gaining serious momentum with Cardellini’s casting—a move that signals a more character-driven, psychological approach to the prequel.
